About this event

WILD BOAR HUNT

PASO ROBLES

The Southwest Priory has arranged, through Ian Thomas (KN) and Oak Stone Outfitters, to hunt wild boar on 80,000 acres of private land located throughout the rolling oak hills and brush-covered canyons of Paso Robles, California.

OAK STONE OUTFITTERS (www.oakstoneoutfitters.com) specializes in fully guided and outfitted wild boar hunts on spacious private ranches throughout California’s Central Coast, providing exceptional experiences for hunters seeking thrilling encounters with wild pigs.  Oak Stone has access to 80,000 acres in Bradley, CA that offers abundant opportunities to generally see 20 to 40 hogs per day, varying with the season.  Oak Stone guides attempt to create diverse and exciting approaches to wild hog hunting using spot and stalk methods as well as ground blinds for archery hunts.  Wild hogs on our grounds generally weigh around 160lbs with a few exceeding an impressive 300 lbs.  Oak Stone has worked with local ranch owners to successfully cultivate dry-land barley and irrigated alfalfa for several decades to produce highly appealing feeding grounds for the wild hog population.

Hunters can anticipate a full day in the field including a break for lunch.  Our guides set out to locate wild pigs during the early morning and late evening as they navigate to and from their feeding areas.  During the sun-drenched midday hours, hogs seek shelter on the brush-covered hillsides, which offers exceptional opportunities for spot and stalk hunting.
