About this event
The Southwest Priory has organized its final hunt of the season scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2028 at the High Desert Hunt Club, Tejon Ranch. Hunting on the Tejon property is a wonderful experience, especially during this time of year. If you have not been, then join the hunt and bring a prospective member or guest.

We will gather at the HDHC Adobe at 7:15a for check-in. The hunt will begin at 8:00a and end at noon followed by a ranch style lunch at the HDHC Adobe. Please confirm your interest by registering for the event. Space is limited and will be allotted on a first come basis.

Directions
|
Take I-5 to highway 138 east for about 6 miles (6 to 8 minutes) until you reach a large sign on the right for the High Desert Hunt Club. Alternatively, type or copy the following GPS coordinates into Google maps 34°46'05.0"N 118°40'11.9"W. Remember to keep your lights on once you turn onto the 138, even in daylight. Signs are posted.

2 hunters, 30 birds, 1 guide with dog per field. |
Cost per Hunter
|
$585 per hunter, birds, lunch, bird processing and a guide with his dog(s). Tips to guides paid separately.

Dogs |
If you wish to hunt with your dog, then please arrange to hunt with another hunter who is comfortable hunting with your dog. Additionally, please notify Jimmy Klein (KC) at least 5 days prior to accommodate changes to field allocations and guides.

Requirements
|
2025/26 California Hunting License with the current upland validation;
One-time insurance premium of $35 paid to HDHC, if you have not hunted this season;
You must provide your own NON-TOXIC ammunition! No larger than No.6 STEEL SHOT;
NO lead shot. Only non-toxic shot such as steel, bismuth, or tungsten;
28ga / 20ga / 12ga;
Eye and ear protection required; and
One item of blaze orange item of clothing such as vest or hat

Typically, temperatures range in the low 30’s, warming to mid-40’s by noon during that time of year. |
