The Southwestern Priory cordially invites you to the 16^th Annual Feast Day European Style Shoot and Celebration in honor of St. Hubertus on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at The High Desert Hunt Club, Tejon Ranch.

The Annual Feast Day Shoot is fashioned after traditional driven pheasant shoots commonly held throughout Europe where pheasants on the wing are driven towards shooters at a high rate of speed more than +40 yards above ground.  Consistent with that tradition, we will release up to 400 pheasants from a nearby hilltop in 5 separate drives towards a row of shooters stationed across 10 pegs (2 hunters per peg). To increase difficulty, shooters will be allowed to use 20ga shotguns ONLY.

After the driven portion of the shoot, shooters will be encouraged to participate in the walk-up portion, which consists of flushing any missed birds from the surrounding fields. The walk-up portion will be followed by a very relaxed ranch style lunch at the High Desert Hunt Club adobe.

• CHECK-IN: 7:15am at the HDHC Adobe.
  
• PREFERRED ATTIRE: Please dress in European continental shooting attire or elements thereof. A collared shirt, hunt jacket, trousers and hunt tie are preferred and appreciated. Please no camo or no jeans.  If you have any questions about attire, then please direct them to priory@ioshswp.com, or refer to the photo above.
  
• LICENSE: Valid California hunting license required.
  
• AMMO: You will be provided with 20ga., No.4 steel shot, which is included in the price of the shoot. Additionally, those wishing to hunt the walk-up portion of the shoot will be provided with 2 boxes of 20ga., No. 6 steel shot.  ABSOLUTELY NO LEAD AMMO on the property.
  
• SHOOTERS: Limited to 20 shooters on a first come basis. Shooters are to use 20ga. shotguns ONLY. Arrangements can be made to acquire shotgun for the day on a first come basis.
  
• CELEBRATION: Ranch style lunch accompanied by Champagne, wine, beer, and fine spirits.
  
• OBSERVERS: Welcomed and encouraged. Observers are invited to watch the driven shoot and attend the celebration ($50.00). Please wear the preferred attire described above.
  
• DOGS: Please DO NOT bring your own dogs.

The Annual St. Hubertus Feast Day Event is an ideal opportunity to build the spirit of the Order by and between Ordensbrothers.
